ICE

Okay, so I am not just speaking of our winter wonderland outdoors...this is weird, I know, and now I know why....

I have, for the past 8 months or year been addicted to ice...

chewing ice by the bowl-full. WEIRD

So I thought. BUT, I decided to google: "chewing ice habbit" and there were pages full of other gals with the same issue, and the problem: LOW IRON. The other items people like to chew when low in iron is chalk, laundry soap and dirt...so I guess ice wasn't so bad. I went out the next day, bought an iron supplement, along with my woman's daily vitamin and guess what?! NO CRAVINGS FOR ICE!!! The weirdest thing I have ever experienced! So, I learned something new this week. Thanks be to God.

Yearning...

What an adventure we have been on to open the coffee and bake house, and how well it has been received! We certainly have met awesome families who have blessed us with great conversation and some theological debate. This is a great meeting place for community and such, but goodness how this mommy yearns for those "home days".

My sweet children are with me daily, they "coffeehouse school" and we all work together in the business, which has been a learning experience that we will cherish...yet I know my calling is in the HOME.

Well, in efforts to keep readers posted on my blog I hastily posted the blog writing yesterday and forgot to check the pictures first...so here are some pics I left behind!

CoffeeHouse Schooling

This is the new term we use for "homeschooling"...and well, isn't it just cool?! Aaron is working hard on the WiFi, probably dictionary.com...and the knitclique basking waiting for some attention. Every Thursday Eve we have activities at hg...BeadMeet, Archiver Club, knitclique, and papercrafters...tonight is knitting, YIPPEEE.

The P'nut buttercup cheesecake is always a hit and I am trying to serve it up with some latte' art. Oh, oh, we also have the most fab pumpkin pie latte, the gingerbread house syrup is from scratch, and I will share!

• 2 cups water
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
• 2 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1/8 cup lemon juice
• Heat the above until sugar is melted and store in fridge for up to 2 weeks. hg uses this in their pumpkin pie latte' and their gingerbread latte'. YUMMM-O

Well, life is just busy, we are in study of John at our Wednesday eve Bible Study at Our Redeemer and goodness, God is so awesome to give us the gift of baptism and the forgiveness in that. We actually studied 3 chapters last night! I will work hard at updating this blog, and not just coffeehouse stuff...although that Luppa (Finish Cardomon Bread) is well worth a blog!

Kid's Favorite: Double Chocolate Chewy

We took a road trip this Monday afternoon to Houghton/Hancock, what a great view from one city to the other!

Okay, this is our 9th week open!!! YIPPEE...and the only way I get through most days is with a prayer, and, hmmm, well, and, maybe eerr, jah know, a quad latte' or two!

So with much nagging, oh! I mean encouragement!? I am posting again on my blog. Hallowed Grounds is nice and steady. I am out of bed by 4am....YES! AM...as in morning, as in darkness! LOL and I sort of enjoy it. Eddie is such a great man to wake up to, and he is always by my side getting the coffeehouse open, and well, delivering that first quad of the day! Then he delivers the three dc, and DW is the BEST barista you would ever meet...really people tell her that daily! Christopher worked today in the kitchen and actually made the cinnamon roll dough by himself!
