lol, yup. Indoor grill, we have done steaks, burgers, and chicken in the past... but this time I didn't pay attention and placed the grill under the alarm, not next to the open window. Shoot! LOL, really, there usually isn't an issue, no different than the kitchen counter, and the hotel did have a micro and fridge... I think I'll stick to the crock pot, no fire alarm there! lol!
So, with further explanation... ran with a towel, waving it like a mad woman in front of the smoke detector, praying that the automatic spray nozzles would not begin soaking the family... dragging the grill over to the open window (with freezing temps making their way into the room, and kiddos saying, "I'm freezing mom!"- like I'm not trying to feed them!) LOL with turning down the grill, we were able to have a smoke free hotel room with a moist barbeque chicken, caesar salad, scalloped potatoes and applesauce meal. Sorry if you were in the room next to ours! teeheehee
