Bread Baking in the easiest form!

Check out this basic bread recipe, no kneading, no special ingredients, just the basic water, flour, yeast and salt...and well, time. That is the wonder that God gives to us, feeding us with bread, not only THE BREAD of LIFE, but yummy crusty bread like this!

I watched the video late last night and decided to give it a try. It was really good! I only had bread flour but it was still tasty. I am going to have to make it again tonight before bed, talk about easy!

Cool! No sugar or oil! I wonder how it would do with whole wheat flour? Might need to find out, eh? I'm enjoying your blog, Shawn! You're one talented lady!

OK I made this bread again with home ground wheat berries and it was good. The texture was different, not as chewy but very moist and soft for wheat bread. I like the taste better with the wheat but like the texture better with the white. I don't think this would work well with store bought wheat, not many breads do well with that stuff:)

So great Shorty! I too LOVE the taste of the fresh wheat berries, as I too grind my own wheat, but also adore the smooth chewey texture of the white...so maybe try half and half next time. Isn't it amazing, just a few ingredients and, WOW, amazing bread!

Well I gave it another try;) I put two cups of whole wheat and one cup of white. It has such great flavor, nutty crusty flavor but, not that chewy texture. I love it and will make it with whole wheat most of the time but when I am wanting that almost sourdough flavor and texture I will have to use the white. My mother in law got a loaf of it and she LOVES it. I am almost afraid to tell her how easy it was...make her think I worked at it!hehe

Thanks, Shorty, for trying this out with wheat berries! Two-thirds/one-third sounds like the way to go.

Shawn, I find cooking to be very satisfying, too! Have a lovely weekend!
