Yearning...

...hallowed grounds...
What an adventure we have been on to open the coffee and bake house, and how well it has been received! We certainly have met awesome families who have blessed us with great conversation and some theological debate. This is a great meeting place for community and such, but goodness how this mommy yearns for those "home days".
.
.
.
My sweet children are with me daily, they "coffeehouse school" and we all work together in the business, which has been a learning experience that we will cherish...yet I know my calling is in the HOME.
.
.
.
How hard it is to be a help-meet to my sweet pastoral husband,
how hard it is to manage a home from afar,
how hard it is to meal plan, how hard it is to prepare nutritious foods,
how hard it is to take care of my self,
how hard it is serve God in the church,
how hard it is to show the gift of hospitality,
how hard it is...
how hard it is...
.
.
.
January is typically spent in my home planning. Planning for spiritual goals, finances, health, homeschooling, and such.
.
.
.
Confession:
My Household Management Book is in shambles! (picture following) Which is just what I am feeling inside right now.
.
.
.
So to begin I pray:
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
This is what a household notebook can consist of:
.
.
.
.
Less of Me-More of Him
The Virtuous Woman
(and ours, which will be posted as soon as I can find that little plug thingy for my digicamera!)
.
.
.
I am seeking counsel in HIS precious Word and will post both the notebook re-vamp as well as my thoughts and future concerning these things...

It is that hard, isn't it?
I think so many of us were told that we could "have it all" if we just worked hard enough to get it. I don't know that I can work any harder and now I'm not sure I want it all!!

Oh, Shawn! You are in our prayers as you struggle through all of your roles! No matter what you do, you will always inspire and bless those around you. :)
We miss you very much.

Shawn, maybe you need to think of the coffeehouse as an extension of your home. Not just a business. Seeing as the children spend alot of time there with you and they are involved with the business, it is a family affair. Like in Europe. It will work itself out and you will find a balance. Love you alot. Eddie and kids too!!! Laurie and Mike

Shawn,
You may already do this so ignore if you do!
Would you be able to afford someone who only wants to work say one day a week or maybe two half days? We have a lady at our local coffee shop who only works Friday nights and I as a Pastor's wife who stays at home with her little ones one would love something that I could do just one evening a week. I could make a little money and socialize with adults! I know something like this won't solve your problems but maybe it might ease things just a little. Just sorry I can't commute from Texas to give you a little break once a week!
